Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and raised by the multiracial, mixed-ethnic family. Her father Elroy is a Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim is Malaysian. She has two brothers and an older sister. In the wake of turmoil in the country, her parents relocated to Bahrain in the early 1980s. After graduating from high school in Bahrain she received a Scholarship to the University of Sydney to pursue an Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. Passionate about the languages and culture inspired her to enroll in the Berlitz language school where she mastered French and Arabic as she learned Spanish. The crown was awarded to Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6th of 2006, and then competed at Miss Universe 2006. In 2006 she won her the Miss Sri Lanka title. Then, she stepped into the world of television, hosting an interview show on Sri Lankan companies named Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father is badminton-player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been born in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. She was a badminton player at the national championships as a teenager but gave up her sport career to become a model. Padukone is a native of Mangalore, India. Her mother tongue Konkani is where she comes from. Padukone is a village in the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the 80s. She has a mother who runs who worked for a travel agency, also hails from this area.
